"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

What title would fit for a post

that is about nothing?

No ideas?  No ID?  Nope so here goes a post without a title.

I recently watched a vlog where the vlogger apologized because she and her husband were going to sing and it was bad.  I paused for a moment and thought, Wow.  We really have only one measure in this social media world and that is for that seemingly perfect measure and everything else must go.

After I listened to them sing I thought, not bad, and the couple's two young sons were happy and dancing.  This made me think about things that I have done over the years and what I see on social media.   What I was thinking I backspaced and removed as my own issues with how I measure or don't measure up came to the surface.  Hmm.  You would think the older you get the less you would care.  Not true.

Anyhow my post about nothing shall take a twist to another topic.  Do you have food storage and prep in your home~in case something happens?  We are in the winter season here in the United States and everyone should have a few weeks minimum of food, water and medical supplies to get them through a crisis.

Twisting once again.  What is up with people zip tying a shopping cart to a vehicle that didn't park correctly?  Have you ever stopped to consider that it is an elderly person that drove that car?  Or a young driver that just got their license?  Maybe it was someone that got bad news about a loved one....what on earth is up with people being so rude and careless~then giddy to share a meme about it?!

Okay I think I am lost for anymore nothings so I will close with a cuteness photo of the kids in a pic from about 20 years ago.

Yes, the time stamp is recent~I snapped a photo of the photo. That's a thing, isn't it?

Monday Monday

and some photos from about the house and farm.
Bill's clothes.  They hang above mine and as we catered this house
for the tall and not so tall~One size did not fit all so we have the tall
bar for Bill's clothes and the very short bar for my clothes.

This is part of a plaque my Bill received in 2000.
I always find my Bill outstanding, but it has been nice over
the years to see that he has been recognized by his peers as well.

On the bookshelf.  I have done some serious editing of pretty
much EVERYTHING we have.  The thrift store has been getting
a good amount from the farm in the past month.  I hope to finish
by the end of the year...but I have been recovering from some
things and my time is depending on how I feel.

Which is why I have been drawing doodling, as the work
really takes my mind off of recovery and well pain.  From
last post to this one, you can see I am still plugging away on
this butterfly.  It is on 18x24 inch paper.

Thought I would show you some fancy feet on the farm.  Two of
these feet loveeeeee Elk hooves and well one of these feet is  the hoof.
A member of the extended family shot an elk recently and shared
not only the meat but the hooves with us.  It is pretty creepy to walk
around the farm and see a hoof nibbled on or with the hair depending
on which hoof it is.  The snake dog loves to bury things so she
spends her days burying the hooves, while the other doggie-doos
spend their days digging, retrieving and gnawing on the hooves.

Well that is it for today.  It has been chilly here at night, and I know
for some readers you have been downright coooold.  Stay warm my friends.

Take time

and watch this video. Have your Bible and a notebook out and pause as often as you need. It is a tremendous study.

A window

to life on the farm.
I am the kindling peep.  The older I get the more I appreciate how easy
it is to build a fire when you have a good base of kindling.  If you are
new to the farm, we heat our home exclusively with woodstove heat.
Yes, we live in the desert southwest but it does get cold at nights.
Last week we were in the 20s F at night.

Henny Penny

My Bible Study from November.  I like to print the book that
I am studying and so I can make notes right on the paper instead
of my Bibles-which are pretty marked up as I might, slightly, use
them all the time.
Views to the mountains in the East.  I love how at differing seasons
and different times of the day how my view of the mountains changes.
The new flock as they rush out in the morning.  We do
have this flock closed in each night and for good reason.
We have had a mountain lion in the area and what better
meal than chickidoodles?  Well the fences, the dogs, and Bill
are also part of the plan to protect our critters, but I do like
to close them in each night.  I can count the chickies and
check and make sure all are doing well.

During my blog break a former police officer from our community was
killed in a vehicle accident while on duty with his new department.  This has
been an emotional year for our officers.

Another side note, our community won the on line contest for the canine dog
and the dog will be in honor of Clint Corvinus the officer that was killed in
September as Clint wanted to start a canine program with the city.

Thanks for visiting the farm!

I wasn't

going to share that I had plans of redoing the bathroom until I had finished it.  I found a shower curtain that I absolutely fell in love with and that became the inspiration for the makeover.

I had no intention of even putting the shower curtain up until I was finished.  But to me, it is so cute that I put up the shower curtain even though it matches nothing~yet.

I actually ordered this through Cafe Press as it was a piece of art done by Ginny Lutrell in 2013.
I haven't bought a new shower curtain in a good 15 or so years.  Mostly I have made shower curtains or found them in second hand shops.  Therefore this was a special treat and I really am glad that I bought it.  Now the shower curtain sits and waits until I consider all the options on what I am going to do in the bathroom, but I finally made a towel rack.

I am not sure, but I think I am going to use nails as the hooks.  It means I will retire
the towel rack that has the kids names on it.  It has only taken me a year since Fourth moved out and three years since I became the Mom of all adults.  I guess for some I am moving too fast, and for others I am really dragging out the childhood memories. For me, it is the perfect time.

I hope to finish this bathroom in a few months if all goes well with my ideas.  It is a pretty much low cost venture as are most of my projects~aside from a shower curtain that I spent a bit over $60.00 for! The reveal will most certainly be shared on this blogity blog.
Thanks for visiting.
