"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Untitled

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  2 Corinthians 6:17

Sometimes

I almost miss an interesting view all because of the mountains.

After spending more of my life out west than anywhere else,  some may think that the views would no longer be noticed.  That is not the case for me.  Bill and I were driving to Tularosa, New Mexico and as usual  I was taking in the mountains, when I noticed this semi and its tarp covered load.

Bill turned and pulled in so we could see it closer.  I am always interested in pretty much everything and to see this super unidentifiable item being transported, well I had to stop!

Before~side note~Now

One of my favorite grocery stores had a makeover.
Here is the before.  Notice the lovely backdrop.  For pretty much all of my time in New Mexico I did my main grocery shopping here.

Side Note: then Albertsons came to town:
I did not go to the grand opening and do not go here to much.  I do like the Albertsons in El Paso which is owned by a different group then the above photo.  The Albertsons in El Paso has far better prices.   Anyhow, it seems like because of Albertsons

this is how my store looks now.

I found the first photo

after the incident.
Now to be clear, this first photo is not from my house.

This one is.

Sigh.

From the Desktop

I do love collecting images of things that make me smile or inspire. Long before Pinterest I have been doing this. Here are three from this week.

I love~love~love this idea.  I am going to do this soon here on the farm.
I have been gathering pebble size rocks for this very moment.

Since 2004ish I have pretty much gotten all my news on line.  It is so weird
to see a newscast when we are out somewhere and hear about something as
if it is news, when we read about it a day or so ago.

I love this one.  I have hummingbird feeders about and all I
have seen aside from hummingbirds are bees!

Blurry, out of focus, yet

captures my heart:

Grand #1 makes a squinty-smiley face that warms my heart.

Grands # 1 and 2 greet each other the same way every time.  They hug and do baby kisses-which are open mouthed cheek plants!

This concludes the blurry out of focus post!

Happy Birthday

to my oldest.  You have been with us the longest, in fact, you have been with Dad and I almost as long as we have been together (minus 10 months).  We love you and delight in the man you have become.

Wishing you the Happiest of Birthdays...where mac and cheese, hotdogs, and rice are a mile high with cayenne pepper and ketchup~

I love you, my very firstest Bubboo.
