"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Because

I have hope.

I see an imperfect world that is possible to live in because  I have hope.
When the day to day grind seems overwhelming
I think upon why the dishes piled up and I have hope.  Bill and I made dinner for the family and we
had special guests as each of the sons brought their special love~and I hope for a future for each of them...as Bill and I have had.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.  Psalm 16:9

When the world moves at a pace that is impossible to keep up with
I have hope as I have a family that I can gather with and slow down.

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. Lamentations 3:24

When kitty does her job and I still squirm because of the critter at her feet,
I have hope...
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Romans 12:12

When perfection is seen in augmented bodies and sterile homes
I have hope and make the small things big.

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: Hebrews 6:11

I can laugh in a world that seems hopeless

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Colossians 1:5

I have hope when life is imperfect and things are turned upside down

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;  And patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  Romans 5:2-5

I hope my readers know by now that I live in a world of hope.  I live in a world where things may not be perfect, but I hope through my faith.

I have the greatest of Hope of all through Jesus Christ...as in 1 Timothy 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

In an imperfect world  despair, pain, grief, bitterness, hatred, murdering, strife, and vileness seem to take center stage.  I say in spite of the world seek to live a life knowing Hope exists.  I do.  If you wish for a free Bible please leave a comment here and we will send you one.

Going to the Chapel

Well one of the sons has made it official.   He proposed last night to his sweetie.  No date yet.  Now for the guessing.  Which Double Nickel Farm son is engaged?

Is it Third?  Second?  Or First?

And yes, I had to use this photo.  I cannot believe how time flies.

Can you guess?

Is it me?

B-4 you wonder about today's Wednesday Window

It is about a bit of things that begin with the letter B~well 4 things to be precise.
This basin is in El Paso, Texas.  I would love 4 it to b in my home.

This Board was filled with a Bible Study on the Churches in Revelation.

Boxing with Bill and the Bull.
Let me say for the record that the Bull said something about me and Bill
was defending my honor.  The brazen manner of that Bull!

Bygone era...the lot had a building that burned down the first year we lived here.
It sat in the crumbled ruins for a few years until the case was closed.
Now we are left with the memories...
orange you glad that this photo is the end of the B-4 post?

My least favorite words

while outside in New Mexico are "there is a snake."  Bill said that yesterday when we were watering the front garden.

Ugh.  Can I say now I am not a snake person.   I totally understand the need for snakes~rodent removal, other snake removal, and to give me an image for a creepy dream.  I get it.  But I do not like to see them or be near them.

I am always watching out for snakes.

Rightly so, as we live in rattlesnake country.  Back to the snake Bill said he saw.  Bill saw the snake in one of the tires we have for our raised beds. Once he saw the snake he knew he would have to find it to comfort me that it was not a rattlesnake.   Bill was certain it was  a bull snake,  after 25 years he knew that anything about snake makes me a tad crazed, so he worked to prove to me what kind of snake he saw.

Yep, perfectly filled and ready to plant tires were emptied...

just to reassure me.   Now let me be clear, I did not want to touch this snake.
I did get my camera for informative purposes only.

Ugh.

I did take these photos but squirmed a lot while doing so.

Bill thank you for not making me jump~this time.

Bill let this creeper go.

Yep...

*small but important note~there is a snake is something that freaks me out no matter where I am.

It's Friday!

Whenever things get you down...don't forget to look up.
This was a recent up view from the Double Nickel.

This is a housewife version of the school game Stacking Cups!

I picked this you*tube link because the boy was pretty amazing
even though he was learning how!

We went to one of our favorite restaurants El Taco Tote the other day.
I have written about a previous visit here.
This is what I call a before diving in photo.

We had First, Fourth and two guests with Bill and I.

Now to be fair...the food is absolutely this good and it merits
what the next photo reveals.

...sigh
the after photo.

I am not sure why I have this photo and wonder if I accidentally snapped
a photo while closing the camera...

Recently I did take progress photos over the sink.

What is nice about this photo is in 25 years it rarely has looked so empty~
I wonder if the dishes miss hanging out at the sink?
On our trip to El Paso I had to go to my new favorite store.

El Paso Saddleblanket is simply amazing.  Be sure if you go to allow
for plenty of time as they have two very large buildings.

Don't forget the Sabbath~and take time to rest as everyone benefits from a bit of down time~

A day of rest was given to us by God, so rest in Him and regroup so you can work refreshed again.

Six days thou shalt labor and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, an all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:9-11

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath Mark 2:27
Please have a safe weekend.   As we remember those that paid the ultimate price we need to be careful.  This weekend claims far too many lives.  Instead I pray we all take the time to appreciate the preciousness of our lives and that we live in a nation where some still don the uniform fully knowing what could be expected of them.
