"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
Dr. Adrian Rogers 1931-2005

Friday Five

I found a board outside from our rough cut lumber
and decided to paint a sign.  In case you have forgotten,

Almost finished photo of my daughter's birthday
present.  You have seen the squares before here.

As one that loves onions, I pickled a good deal of onions this year.
Pickled onions are absolutely amazing!

Yesterday I canned beets, and needed two more jars
to fill the pressure canner, so I prepped and canned two
jars of carrots as well.  What to do with the peelings?

If you have read my blog for any amount of time,
you know I work very hard to use every thing and
times they go in the slop bucket for the chickidoodles,
and today...

I am going to make carrot cookies.   I do use butter
instead of margarine, and I do not have shortening
so I will be using butter for that too.

That's it for Friday Five.

Have a lovely weekend and remember that a day of rest was given to us by God, so rest in Him and regroup so you can work refreshed again.

Six days thou shalt labor and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, an all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:9-11

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath Mark 2:27
