"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Laundry Soap for the Farm

Keep in mind that this is very easy, it will save you a great deal of money, and it lasts a good while...so if you want to make homemade laundry soap for under a dollar here is the simple recipe.

First you need a laundry bar of soap.  Sometimes I use Zote instead of Fels-Naptha,
as it is in our stores and the bar is about 75 cents.  Fels-Naptha is available in the detergent
aisle at your local super~center.

Grate about 1/3 of the bar.

Put it in a pot and add 6 cups of water and turn on medium heat.
Stir until melted.  Then add

1/2 cup of Borax and

1/2 cup of washing soda

Stir until they both dissolve.  Remove from heat.

Take a bucket that can hold at least 3 gallons or so of water
~ and then

add 4 cups hot water to the bucket.  Then add the soap mixture to the bucket.
Now add 1 gallon plus six cups more of water.  Stir!

The laundry soap is frothy or soap bubbly.  Let rest over night and
then it is ready to use.

Use 1/2 cup per laundry load and for softness
add 1/2 cup white vinegar to load.
