"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Instead of Milk

Yep, I have found something instead of milk to meet my simple needs of having milk every few months or having a bowl of cereal.  I have never been a fan of milk.

I was reading here and there the other day and stumbled across a recipe that uses oats to make an alternative to milk. Let me say Yay!

Ingredients needed:
1 cup oats
3 cups filtered water
1 tsp.vanilla (optional-I used)

The directions were to blend the ingredients well and I did.

Then run the mixture through a strainer.

I did.
Then pour into a jar.
Shake before each use.

This is so delicious.
I would only change one thing~I would soak
the oats with the water then drain, and squeeze the oats.
This way I would have more than the mashed oats.  I could
then use the oats in either a bread, cookies, or give to the chickens~
as I am a frugal one and love to make use of everything.

I found the recipe for the oat milk at The Conscientious Eater.
