"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

In my previous post, I shared a scary day because of my

precious grandson choking on a plastic lid. I am so thankful that he is doing well.  But that day was already EVER so scary for me.  I was watering the garden in the back when our snake dog alerted me, she would not stop barking.  I knew it was a snake because of her warning AND something that has never happened before.  I could hear the rattle over the barking! It was the loudest rattlesnake rattle I have ever heard.

The snake was caught in the chicken wire we have wrapped around the back yard fence.
I called Bill and he came home VERY quickly and took care of the situation.  I cannot leave the situation and I keep my eyes on the snake~from a VERY safe distance~until Bill comes home. The worry that the snake will harm an animal on the farm~or a human is something I take very serious.

If you can click on the photo you can see the chicken wire wrapped around this snake. The snake was 44" long.   I am pretty wigged out as I type this as rattlesnakes do that to me.

Anyhow~two snakes in three days has not been comforting.  The good news is that we are having a cold spell in the 70's with rain so I am hoping winter is around the corner.  Maybe it is made up good news but this is what I am telling myself.  While we were disposing of the snake was when Third called Bill about grand# 2 and the scariest day I have ever had really began.  Funny how perspective makes the snake story not the scariest of the day.
