"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
Dr. Adrian Rogers 1931-2005

I Wish I Was in the Land Of Cotton

Here is a cotton field in Arizona ready to be harvested.
and a rogue cotton plant on the other side of the irrigation ditch

Cotton was everywhere~instead of Wal*mart bags littering the roads, fence lines and such
cotton was the wayside item.

Even in the fields harvested cotton remained quite abundantly.

In the politically correct times we live in I shall give a disclaimer.  I do not long for Old times they are not forgotten, and I would never wish for slavery.  Please keep that in mind when I share the lines of the Dixie song.  As we grew some cotton on the farm, I was deeply interested in the large scale operation of a cotton business.   Bill and I were pretty impressed with the bales of cotton and the sheer number of cotton fields~and consider every outing a possible moment to learn something new!
