"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
Dr. Adrian Rogers 1931-2005

Life is Filled With Surprises

While prepping the winter garden Bill and I stumbled across a rogue watermelon plant.  With our first freeze coming soon, I am doubtful of its survival, but finding it brought smiles to Bill and I.

On to the goof troop and a blast from the past

The goof troop has been busy~let's see Fourth's schedule was filled every day last week.  Second had class, training, fire calls, EMS calls, and is in El Paso this weekend.  Third has been catching any extra shifts possible and with the medical field~this means he has been busy.  First had several important meetings with some of the upper echelon.  Okay, okay, I didn't say with the the brass, but the upper echelon of McDonald's.  I am willing to bet this would have been a more exciting meeting~say 15 years ago, but First was a good sport!

This is a photo of my cuties and we took off Fourth's oxygen hose... for the photo. My mother-in-law crocheted her lovely dress and booties.
