"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

County Fair Parade

The theme of the Otero County Parade is Tales of the West. Once again we will be entering a parade for the campaign. Since I love the theme, I am also going to add a float.

It sounds crazy but perhaps I have been missing out by never participating in parades other than watching. Well, let me put myself in check. A campaign enters a parade to gain name recognition. We gave away water~which I had never seen before~with the campaign logo because it was over 100F by the end of the parade. I wanted to give those that came to the parade something useful as well as something that gives information.

I recognize that signs on a vehicle do not make me a skilled float contender but it definitely triggered my brain with many ideas for upcoming parades. I love this year's theme and have completely planned our float. I cannot share too much aside from the fact that a straw bale or two are part of the float.

Stay tuned as I am certain I will be posting a few pics down the road.

Now for the cuteness photo:

Jennifer-We would love to meet the family and see all your handsome men!

Glenn, the primary is next June. We live in one of the only Republican counties in the state so there are always several candidates in the race for the republican spot. That is why we buckled down and started early enough to get the campaign as efficient and effective as I know it needs to be. Or perhaps I am a wee bit too organized but I think it is a good idea in campaigns.
