"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Throwback Thursday

Over the years, many people have told me that Fourth looks like me.   I have smiled and thanked them, but the truth is that the only reason people said this was Fourth did not have black hair. Bill and the boys all had dark hair by the time Fourth arrived.   For the record my mother-in-law always told me that Fourth looked exactly like Bill's oldest sister C.  The older Fourth got the more I saw this resemblance as I only knew C as an adult.  Fourth has many of the same mannerisms as C.

Perhaps I have shared this before but I am still amazed at how much Fourth looked like C.  Here is C when she was a baby.  I shamelessly lifted this off of Facebook from one of the family members.

Yep.  With this photo I really saw what my mother-in-law was saying.

By the way, Fourth was born one day after my sister-in-law 35 years later.
