This guy escaped from his home and arrived outside the gate. He
scared the dogs so much, that I was worried about what was outside.
The dogs were barking and then would turn and kind of run in fear.
As I got to the gate, I had called Bill, as I was thinking perhaps a
big cat (mountain lion) was injured and still outside the gate.
I confess I was relieved and shocked to see this little guy, as
he was not so little.
An officer was a few minutes away and came out while the owners
were contacted as this one and another had escaped. This one weighed
80 lbs! I was a tad nervous, but the deputy touched him, so I bravely-
well chickenly touched him as well. The owners arrived and shared
that this guy is from Africa and they rescued him.
Crazy what shows up in the desert in the middle of nowhere!
I dehydrated some diced onions as I am a fool for onions. Yep,
a fool. I always ask Bill if I have onion breath and he tells me
no, your breath is sweet. I think he is immune to me, and for that
I am happy!
This kitty loves to find places to sleep and usually she does not
sleep in the same place two days in a row. Sometimes I cannot
find her as she finds such good hidey nappy places!
Bought some chips and thought of Neil Armstrong.
Still think Neil Armstrong is pretty cool even though
he is no longer alive. The chips are the store
brand from Albertons.
Go Sheriff's Office! They won the law enforcement appreciation
day hosted by a local realtor and this day is to become an annual
event. The young men in the photo were part of a tug a war team
of five-two aren't pictured-that competed against the city police
department and the city fire department. It was pretty amazing to
watch as the sheriff's office team was not as large or with as noticable
of muscles. I think it is because the sheriff's department team had a
rancher on the end, and even though he is skinny, working on a ranch,
and bucking horses and such makes for a far stronger person than just
weight lifting. This is my opinion but I see it in my own family working
our simple little farm. By the way, the police chief, sheriff, and fire chief
also participated in a dance off. The sheriff took second!
I made several trays of pumpkin pie leather as well. Oh boy is
it delish and it tastes like pumpkin pie!
Granddads are the best. This photo is from Grand #2s first birthday.
Grand #2 is being held by his other granddad while Bill is holding
Grand#1. I only took a few photos of this day and hope that my daughters
and Bill forward me the rest of the photos:) wink, wink!
Here is Team_______. Bill wore Not the Short One and I wore
Not the Tall One shirts. On the back of the shirt it says Team and
our last name. Yep, this is a photo of me as I am tossing a horseshoe.
We lost but Bill and I both were surprised at how many ringers we
tossed and how many points that we actually scored! Go Team ______!!
This is were the horseshoe tournament was held. I'm putting
this photo up because I am pretty certain that the team on the left
practicing were the team that won! Woohoo!
