"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Yesterday was one of the scariest days of my

life.  I will share more in another post, but Bill was home and he received a call from Third.  I did not know anything else as Bill began running and took off as fast as he could.  I only knew the call was from Third.

I began to pray and waited.  Bill called and said Third is not answering but Second is off and he sent Second over to Third's house.

I prayed more.

I began getting ready to head to town.  I felt I needed to be there.  I still had no idea.   Then Bill called.  Our Grand #2 was choking and had turned blue. This is all I knew.  I left the house slowly and methodically.  I wanted to be there in a blink of an eye.  I would call my Bill every few minutes. No answer.  Finally just outside the hospital Bill texted me this photo.

Grand #2 was shaken a bit raspy but all was fine.  He had been choking on a water bottle plastic lid. When I arrived in the ER it took everything I had not to cry.  My daughter-in-law was visibly shaken and doing better as she was holding precious grand #2.  My son was shaken and relived the sequence of events.  Since he works in the ER nights, he was watching the baby.  Baby came to him when he began to choke...for that I am thankful.  Third did a finger sweep and could feel the object but could not get it.  He turned him over and thumped the back twice and did the finger sweep again and he was able to retrieve the lid.  Because baby was gasping a bit and there was a bit of blood Third took him to ER with Second.

I am so thankful that my son knew what to do and even though it was his own son responded to save his life.  I am thankful that my other son did not ask questions when Bill called him, but went directly to his brother's house.  I am so grateful for my wee little grand and his momma and daddy and I am thankful that yesterday ended well.
