"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

After several months and

many hands our farmhouse now has an almost finished brand new front porch!  Here are a few photos of the work in progress.  I do have more but these photos are from the past four weeks~which really were amazing.
After not using the porch since late Octoberish, once the
porch was close, Bill put plywood planks by the door so
we could use the front once again!

Fourth came out one day and helped out!

Second came out and also helped!

Bill found unfinished wood to use for the steps and
for the beams above.

Here are the beams before the roof went on.

A great group of men came out and helped Bill put the
porch on.  We are deeply grateful for their excellent
work and also how fun they were.  The guy standing
on the wood was a goof.

Here is the floor of the porch. We have to treat the wood
and put the railing on the porch.  It will be a railing of
logs split.  Oh and we need to put the railing on the stairs.
This too will be made of logs.

Here is the porch in progress.
I do not have the finished porch yet, as we do have a bit
more to go.
