"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

About the Past Several Days: Part 1~Prayers Needed

Saturday afternoon we received a call from friends of ours about their oldest daughter aged 14.  She had been kicked in the face by one of their horses and was in the hospital.

We left our home around 8 pm to head to El Paso, TX, to sit with the family as our hands, like theirs were bound and the situation was and is completely in God's hands.  When we arrived, no one, and I mean no one from the hospital staff was anywhere.  The security desk was vacant and we had no idea where we were to go, or where exactly our friends were.

We begin walking around, and a doctor came up to us and asked us if we were there for the little girl.  He then told us exactly where we needed to go.

When we arrived to where our friends were, after the inquiring about their daughter, I asked if they sent the doctor to help us locate them...they did not! Amazing in El Paso, TX, in such a large hospital that this happened~well I believe it did because we were being guided where we needed to go.

Now to the wonderful news~the 14 year old is recovering after surgery and having a titanium piece in to repair the cheek area.  If the horse had hit her face an inch or so in another area she would have died. That is so hard to type.  It makes me swell with tears and struggle to breathe.  I am so thankful that she is still here with her momma, daddy, and sisters.

The other amazing thing is if the horse had been shod(if I remember this correctly) she also would have died as the impact would have encompassed a larger area.

Now the family understands as do Bill and I, that God has a plan and hardships and loss happen.  We are thankful that although the recovery time will not be easy their daughter will recover and most likely(knowing her love of horses) be back working with her horses and riding them as soon as she is permitted.

What I ask of those that are prayer minded people, is could you pray for this family?  It is an emotional roller coaster that they are on, with very little sleep, having mom stay at the hospital and dad home with the other two along with several trips back and forth so all can be together even small snippets of time.  The daughters are extremely close and this is very difficult.  I ask that if you could take a moment and pray for our Father's will to be done, and that the family is comforted throughout.

Thank you so much.
