"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Simple Life

Life in the slow lane is perfectly fine with me.  I still am the housewife~yet, I have much more time to do other things.
I took up painting (on canvas) at age 47.

My craft room storage area
(the room formerly known as Fourth's bedroom)
This room has all of my crafty endeavors.  Some are
needs-sewing, mending and such, but the rest are for
my enjoyment.

My breakfast.  I have never really conformed to
the traditional breakfast of the US-whether it is
cold cereal or eggs, toast, and such.  I usually have
a bean, rice soup but lately, I am on a Brussels Sprouts
fix.  I cannot believe that I never had Brussels Sprouts
before.  I must make up for all those years of missing out!

The sign by my sink.  This is so very true.

Now for a snack that my mom would make when I
was a kid.  It may seem strange, but it is delish!

Take dried plums...four is the perfect serving.

Cover them in peanut butter

Then roll them in powdered sugar.  Seriously they are
amazing.  I do not really like sweets too much but this one

We have a finite amount of time on this planet.
Often I share silly posts about my life and the simplicity of it,
and other times I am more serious.  The truth is that there is a purpose
to our life on earth. Our Creator gave us a handbook to guide us through
our days and if YOU would like a free Bible (King James Version)Bill and
I will send one to you free of charge. Click here to leave your information!

Sounds good except for the peanut butter. Peanuts are grown underground (I have raised them in the past) and get contaminated with many types of fungus which make mico-toxins which are definitely not good for you. Try almond butter instead. Almonds are tree nuts and are true nuts not legumes like peanuts.

DD- Thank you for the info. I am not a big peanut butter fan aside from this snack once or twice a year. Bill is though, so I will look into your information :) I want to keep Bill around a good long time!

I'll not eat Brussel Sprouts, but I'll eat liver, spinach and beets.
