"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Things to Ponder

I have some posters this post to share.
Something to think about.  In the English Torah is often
translated into law.

This one always gets me.  Forever is forever.
Oh and Torah=Law.

If the Sabbath is done away with, is the LORD of the Sabbath
done away with as well?
This posters are not to make anyone angry.
They are not to make one feel as though I am attacking.

Someone had a post similar to this that made me transform and
REALLY SEARCH for Truth. I stopped reading all the nicities
that different churches put out.  I stopped reading what Christian author
said, and quick thinking about my purpose driven life and OPENED
the Bible.

I read, made notes, and read some more.  I prayed, read, made notes,
and talked with Bill.  I could not believe that many of the things that I have been
exposed to as a Christian aren't Biblical.

Oh and this began a major change in Bill's and my life.

We are NOT Jewish.
We are not part of a Messianic Movement.
We are simply readers of His Holy Word with NO filters placed
upon our understanding.

Instead of being combative we trusted the fact that those that
read and believe will NOT be mainstream.

Hi Humble Wife !

I believe the Old Covenent was was a contract between the Hebrews and God. I really don't think that it applies to Christians.

Consider the folling verses:

Deuteronomy 8 KJV

1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers.

2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Deuteronomy 30 KJV

16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

It seems to me that the Hebrews had to keep the commandments if they wanted to stay in the land. If they failed God would kick them out.

Christians are not in the land. The Gospel makes us acceptable to God in a Gentile world. We can't keep all of the commandments, God commanded that they should keep ALL of the commandments. Can you keep all of the commandments? It's not possible, there is no temple.

I believe Jesus is talking about the commandments in the New Testament. Read Matthew 5,6 and 7,the Sermon on the Mount.

What is Jesus saying here?

Matthew 28 KJV

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen

That's all for now.

Dizzy-amen indeed.

Hi Jeff- I will respond here but will follow up with a post. First off, we are not under the old covenant which was given to the twelve tribes and the strangers that were with them (this was the two tablets at mt sinai). Instead we are under the new covenant. This is found in Jer. 31:31-34. To summarize this new covenant will be made with the house of Israel-bible history-the ten tribes that never returned after the diaspora. The law will be put in our inward parts. When we leap to Matthew 15 24 who was Christ sent for? The lost sheep of the house of Israel. Therefore receiving Christ grafts us into Israel-not the Jewish nation of today but of the lost tribes(the ten)see Romans 11 about grafting.

The whole duty of man Eccl 12 13 is to Fear God and keep His commandments.
In I john 2 3 we show God we know him if we keep his commandments.

In 1 john 5 3 we read For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

There are many laws that I personally cannot keep because you are correct there is no temple. But we are to walk as our Saviour walked. We are not to think that God changes and that clean and unclean change. We must stop reading the bible through Constantines eyes of anti jewish fervor. The ten commandments are not grievous. We can start there. We are not seventh day adventist is we keep the sabbath day holy but those who read his word and take note in the one commandment that he told us REMEMBER as he knew that in the future we would not only forget the sabbath, but interpret the bible so that we do not have to do as he did.

The truth is in 1 John 1 6 we should walk as he walked. He did not eat pork, he kept the holy days that the father told to keep forever in Lev. 23 and he wore tzitzits(fringe) and obeyed the father. We are told that to do this is not grievous. Yet, many suggest that this is difficult.

I cry foul and will share more. The truth must rest in His word and not in the way man has interpreted his word to make them feel good. The promise of the saviour was foretold it happened on the passover and he will return on trumpets in the future. Man has spun and separated christians from the Old testament and that is where the groundwork is for our entire behavior. We are to study to show ourselves approved...a command in the new testament-which was talking baout the only scriptures written at the time...the old testament.
THank you for your comment I will post on this completely!
