"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

And the 2014 theme of the year

is in spite of.  Kind of a short theme but let me explain.  In spite of everything going on in the world, I will continue to live the way I do.   I will stand firm in my faith, my marriage,  my role as a wife, my role as a mother and continue on.

The world is an imperfect place.  It has many amazing things in it.  There are many amazing people, but with the world at my fingertips, it is also horrible, filled with things that sicken me.  In the past several months I have pulled away from writing about things that are bad or wrong.  I have instead focused more on the life I live.

The window I share to our lives is direct.  I mean if we enjoy the good in our lives when bad arrives are we to whine and moan?   Of course not.   This is right out the book of Job in the Bible.  He is enduring incredible hardships and his wife tells him
Dost thou retain thy integrity? curse God and die.   But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.  What?  shall we receive good at the hand of God, and not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.   Job 2:9
Bill and I we have really enjoyed the good times we have had.  Knowing this, we get through when times are hard, as we know, that both are needed to have a full life.  This blog has shown both sides of things and will continue to do so.

Now with the theme declared~ I will press on in 2014!

I like "in spite of" and I know you, like I can also add but "because of Christ"......and that is the end of the story.

Thank you. Wisdom for facing hard times is rare these days and I've been collecting it.

As I told a friend, I mentally hear that quote from Job as "You speak as one of the *foolish* women do"(not as one of the *wise* women.) In other words, to stop being silly and woman up!
