"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

I guess I really don't need a post after that title!  I am still praying we have a good cold spell so that we won't have the bugs this growing season.  We did have that really cold February in 2011~so maybe!

Even if it freezes here, we still have the bugs come summertime. That is what one can expect living in the south. How long does it have to stay below freezing to kill the bugs? I think they are tougher than I think they are.

Beautiful picture!!

Dizzy-our problem is not about the normal bugs, but without a freeze the grasshoppers are so many that the garden is a sorrowful lot...even with chickens. Bugs and even the normal amount of grasshoppers are tolerable, it is the volume that is like one of the biblical plagues without a good freeze, that I am praying to avoid.
