"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

The Monday Minute

~Bill and I had dinner with our third son last night.  I remember when the kids were small how Bill and I worked hard to have alone time with each child.  As the kids have gotten older coordinating with their work schedules, school schedules, and their activities is a challenge.  Last night, Third came home for dinner, it was just Bill, Third and I!  We made a simple dinner and then played Phase Ten.  When I hugged him goodbye, all I could think of was, wow!!  As the goof troop continues to get older I have discovered that I am enjoying the adults that they have become. The 'dates' we have been having with our kids is something pretty wonderful and I look forward to more and more.
