"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

No Kidding!

I won a contest. Not just any contest, but a blog contest. Oh and the contest was guessing when a doe would deliver her kid or kids.

Let's Have A Contest!

And the Winner is...... Me! I won!

Part of my prize was I was given the honor of naming the kids. Nina, the doe, had twins-females. Naming critters on the Double Nickel is something we enjoy and think a bit about~well most times*, so I took some time today and really tried to come up with some names that will work for the Frippery Farm.

In case you are wondering, I named the wee ones Irish names that began with the letter N(as per instructions)... Nora and Neala.

*Now as to names for the Double Nickel~we have had Colonel Sanders, Mr. Ham the ram, his wife Mrs. Ham, Blindie the limited vision rooster, Esther, her daughter Mini(as in mini me she is Esther's lookalike), Tiny(the smallest ewe we have), Boaz and Ruth their son Obed, BB that we thought was a female cat-is actually a Tom, so Butterball changed to BB. Norm the buck-that thought it was 'norm'al to come in the house, Cuatro-the four horned ram-cuatro in Spanish is 4, Ms. Scarlet the hen, Blue the hen(that we bought and she had a blue tag on her wing), Freckles the duck(she had freckles), George the goose(named after GW Bush-yep I named him after GW). Well tons more, but you get the idea. Naming is something that we do on the farm...and even though some are for our freezer-we still name them-Like Desi, Deep Freeze. Anyway~

Thank you Gwenn of Frippery Farm for having your contest and allowing me the privilege of naming your kids!
