"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

That's a neat picture. :D

Too bad I didn't know you back in 2006, San Francisco is only about 2 hours from us, we could have met up in person.

Hi Jen,

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year has started off right for you. Hope your #1 son (Bill?) is safe and well and that his deployment will be over sooner than later.

Didn't know how else to get in touch so am leaving this in the comments of your most recent post. Your email links on the blog are not working for me.

All the best,
