"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Forget TSA Call your Airlines

Dear Friends,

Forget the TSA and their literal raping of innocent Americans going to and fro. It is time to call each and every airline...tie up their phone lines, email them like crazy, send faxes- and tell them NO WAY I am flying on your airline. If my constitutional rights are tossed out the window because I desire to fly somewhere, then to heck with flying. Excuse my language, but enough already...let our voices be heard to those that rely on our $$.

Oh and while we are calling our airlines...flood the Congress phones. NO MORE.

Signed a person who wonders if she crossed the border into another nation...as I do not recognize my country anymore.

(1) Flying is not a right; it's a privilege. (2) If this was the situation immediately after 9-11, no one would be screaming. (3) TSA folks aren't getting their jollies patting down same-sex strangers.

I don't understand why so many people are so upset with this. A majority of the time I agree with you - my (much) older and (usually) wiser sister!

lol My brilliant and much younger sister!! We will disagree on this. Post 9-11 we had the patriot act signed which I harped about then. Flying is really not much of a right in our nation as many use it in business every day.

Here is my scenario- you are pulled over on the highway. The officer has you get out of the car, frisks you and in fact has you lift your bra and shake it, and misses nothing, including patting between your legs. Then he walks back to his patrol car as you walk back to yours. What would you do? Hire an attorney as this officer needed probable cause to pull you over, then to frisk you(for his safety ) would be explained. We have an assumption of constitutional rights in this nation. The airport does not have an end of our rights zone.

Imagine this scenario crossing over in all arenas of life, because truth be told everything is a privilege here...

Political correctness has gone awry and we are having this process. It is the same as here in New Mexico- we pass through 2 Border Patrol checkpoints several times a week. Never- not once have the agents asked Bill or the kids for ID...NEVER. The point of the checkpoints is to monitor a possibility of illegals coming from Mexico- Now why on earth would they not ask Bill for his identification? He clearly fits the profile of looking Mexican...hmm. We have tossed common sense out the window and refuse to acknowledge that profiling should be used. We use it when we pick our fav teams(we profile the fittest looking muscular) when we select mates(we profile traits we desire, long eyelashes, busty etc) and we profile at post offices when we see young persons who fit the profile of skaters so we cant stop them from skateboarding on government property- those signs aren't for me, nor am I looked at twice even if I am loitering at a post office- because I do not meet the profile. Profiles or standards that we set are because we have statistics that confirm our profiles. Not every profile is correct of course, but I promise you a Black granny from the Bronx or a white granny from Cleveland ARE NOT ones who fit the profile of a terror suspect. Why are we patting them down? For that matter, what the heck about the children? If I touched a child at my local grocery store the way that the children on the TSA youtube videos have been touched I would be arrested and become a registered sex offender FOR LIFE.

Just because we have been erroneous in the past does not negate that this is a massive invasion of our rights now.

I never suggested that the TSA is getting their jollies off of the pat downs- but I do believe that power trip itis is at play.

Alas...I do believe that many people will concede and say that this is not too bad, as a fat sassy America is too comfy to make note of the withering away of our very foundation. I am a terrible flyer anyway- as my ears cause my head to throb and I am miserable every flight, so I do not believe I will fly again EXCEPT for my children- then I will go anywhere~

Happy Turkey day to you and Sami!
