"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Flashback to Germany

Seventeen years ago today, I met, for the first time, an incredible person.
This person changed my life in ways I could never have imagined.
This person has made me smile when I am sad, made me laugh when I am angry, and made my heart expand to new heights.

Seventeen years ago today, I became a mother, for the third time.
The sweet babe was born early, so the doctors quickly transported him to a Kinderclinic nearby. He spent 57 days in the hospital, but once out never looked back!

When the doctor came to tell me that my son was being transported she brought him to me, so I could see him one quick moment. From that moment I fell in love with the cutie and was amazed at how wonderful he looked in red, as they had him dressed in a red little jumper.

After our first child we were told that we most likely would not have any more children, and by the third, who I call Third in blogland, we were told that I could not have any more...so we named him a name that would remind us what a blessing he was to us. We truly were blessed that day all those years ago.

Today Third is an incredible young man who has loves life. He is a delight to be around and has such comedic timing. I cannot imagine where he will be or what he will be doing in 17 years as there is no limit to what he can do. Every door and every option is available to him as he loves life.

My dear sweet Third...Happy Birthday! We love you!

ps. I still love seeing you in red!!
