"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Fair Things

{the three yellow roses with the blue ribbons are from the Double Nickel}

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then we were all dead. And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

{a lovely neck scarf crocheted by Fourth}
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6

{Third made tortillas for his first place entry in the Unleavened bread category}

Seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread: even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses : for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. Exodus 12:17

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing a few things that we entered in the County Fair. Yesterday I thought that I would share some of the items that we entered in the fair, and a scripture with it. It rained every evening of the Fair, and in fact we helped take down a booth that Bill's office had set up at the fair, during heavy rains. We had to use the heaters in the truck, as we were cold...in August...in the desert!

Do you get tired of me telling you, and your family, how very amazing you are? So wonderful the way you tied the scriptures in with the items. You guys ROCK. And we know who the ROCK is!!!!

Those are so neat!!! I love the scarf your daughter knitted. This brings back memories of entering my 4-H sewing projects at the fair and eagerly running into the Exhibition Hall on the first day to see what ribbons I got. I am so impressed with your son's tortillas, too. When I make them, they are... not round. Oh well!! =)

I loved the flowers, the scarf and the "unleaved bread." The scriptures that you chose were a blessing. Have a great day. connie

What a neat idea to write a scripture verse with the items you made and won a blue ribbon with :-)
